Operating since 1923 offering a range of services as follows:
Gourmet products including a range of Tasmanian specialty cheese,
olives, olive oil, jams, chutneys, fudge, apple juice, meats, cakes and
pastries, fresh fruit and vegetables. Seasonally and wherever possible, a
wide range of locally grown potatoes, apples, stonefruits, berries including
elderberry concentrate, garlic, quinces, kiwi fruit, passionfruit and salmon
are sourced.
The independently owned shop also is the local newsagency and has a wide
range of the latest DVD releases for hire. During the Summer season when
recreational fishing is popular a wide range of fishing bait, ice, hooks and
lines are also available.
The Dover Grocer and Newsagency has also been mentioned in Lonely Planet
as a last stop for essential bush walking tucker, water and provisions.
This a "must visit" establishment where friendly service is a specialty.
